Loneliness is crippling

PS: you’ll likely see errors, this post is unedited.

It’s one thing or the other for you.

You bury yourself in work and your secret bad habits. You never shy away from saying it — You hate people. It’s too people-ly outside so you would rather stay in the living room of the one-room self-contained apartment you struggled to rent.

Your mattress is in one corner of the same living room with your one-seater. No you don’t have a TV, none of those gadgets people keep in their living rooms. You keep lying to yourself that your HP Laptop and your iPhone X are enough gadgets for one person. Minimalist lifestyle innit?

Why do you need a Smart TV when you have a Smart Phone. After all, it’s you alone, although Sadness visits once in a while with bags of regrets and worry. What a Santa Claus!

Tonight, you’re alone, and for the first time ever, being alone doesn’t put you at peace.

You remember the video your friend uploaded earlier in the day, boo’d up with her new man.

You had commented, ‘Oga’s Madam’ and thrown words to gas her up (like the Gen Zs say).

You are happy for her, so you think. She’s really seen enough shege with men so she deserves this love in particular.

It’s a different story with you. You dished out breakfasts to all the poor men who came your way. And last April, on your 28th birthday, you decided love wasn’t your thing. You don’t need a man when you’re a manager.

Boss Lady No. 1!

It’s 11:48pm and sleep eludes you. You badly need someone to talk to. Of all days, those random men that shamelessly send HIs to your DM are unavailable. You don’t like any of them but you sometimes feed on their attention.

Your favourite ex is also offline.

It’s about to be a long night…

Did you enjoy reading this? I mean, does it make any sense? I’ve had a long day with more work to do and I thought I might just ‘unwind’ by writing something random.
